Two casting calls for theatre projects (Devon, UK) [04 Feb 2011|05:10pm]

Sadly, shows arent paid, but as you will see there are other perks. We are an award winning, non-profit community theatre company specialising in shows with a historical theme, based in South West England. If you are interested in either show, you can message me here on Livejournal (I am the secretary for the group), or visit our website and facebook links. People need to be locally based to the shows, so think the South of Devon.
If you will be on holiday in the area though, and would like to join in, as these are fast-turn-around shows, you are still totally welcome to get involved!

Feel free to share the information, but please include ALL the information if you do. :)

Auditions and Agents: [13 Nov 2008|11:44pm]

Wanted to pass along this info for everyone about this DVD. It is a really great DVD for people in the industry who have questions about agents and finding auditions.

Professional dancers know that they have to work hard in order to make it. They spend hours learning choreography and perfecting routines that may only last a few minutes. They head to casting calls, sometimes with hundreds of other performers, only to face rejection. They are judged on technique, hair color, body type, and whether they have the right look. The life of a professional dancer is stressful but to most, it's also completely worth it, especially for the moment when they finally land their dream job. So how does one make it? In her new DVD, From Agents to Auditions, Keltie Colleen provides some wonderful advice for finding success in the dance world.

From Agents to Auditions is a great DVD, loaded with lots of useful information for people who are looking to break into the entertainment industry. From quick tips about what to bring to an audition to creating an eye-catching resume; and dealing with rejection, the film gives performers an idea of what they can expect from an audition and the steps they should take to secure the jobs they want. There are also a number of interesting interviews with a variety people including choreographers, dancers, talent agents and an accomplished music video director. They discuss their expectations for the talent they hire and provide honest answers to questions that every performer wants to know (What do you look for in a dancer? Where can I find information about casting calls? How do I find representation?). These interviews include Anastasia Miller (Director of Choreography/Commercial/Dance, Clear Talent Group and Alan Ferguson, Acclaimed Music Video Director) as well as many more! Please Visit www.keltiecolleendance.com to order.

new webseries that I am producing/starring in...I'd love feedback! [06 Jul 2008|09:34pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

It's been a busy few months to say the least. I am very proud that my production company has released the first webisode of our new webseries, FEED.   It's produced by Heroine Films in connection with Sundance-winner Anastasia King (American Blackout) and written/directed by NYIIFF winner Mel Roberston.

It's been such a long process and I've never been more stressed out.

But I have to say that I am proud...and excited...

It's about a female blogger who takes the media into her own hands when a video she's posted online makes its' way to the five o' clock news and threatens the lives of everyone in the video including her and her new group of underground digital vigilantes.

you can see the first webisode (3 minutes long) at www.feedseries.tv

and here is the trailer:

Input On Resume [06 Feb 2007|12:30pm]

Hi all! I'm trying to write up a resume. I'm mainly aiming for modelling work and, as you may have guessed, this is the first time I've ever had to write something like this up so I'm more than a little bit stuck. :( Help from somebody who has done this sort of thing before. I'm aiming to keep things short and sweet. I've seen some resumes where people just seem to have chucked everything on there and it just looks, well, messy! But, then again, I'm reasonably new at all this. I've done little things in the past so the problem is they are few and far between. Some input, please?

Hey guys, haven't posted here before, but just a heads up if any one is in the Los Angeles area.

Roger Hutton in Santa Monica is working on a project for which he sets up shoots and promises payment. He does not come through with said payment, and makes a lot of demands (like changing hair color for his shoot). He also tries to get you to agree to shoot alone with him in your apartment without meeting him first. Beware of him.

Calling models and actresses! [18 Jul 2006|10:13am]
I am a scout manager for this company called TooSpoiled, which manages models and actors. Our company employs tons of casting agents that meet with all kinds of clients from all over the world that are looking for people to do commercials, print ads, catalogs, high fashion, and even movie extras. Its free to get a profile on the site, and its kinda like myspace, the only difference is you'll be able to network and get access to clients who are looking for people like you. You don't need any professional pics or anything, but if you have them, that's good too.

The site is www.toospoiled.com, and if you'd like a referral by using my scout manager ID, use NYJO3411. I'm trusting that since this is a model group, people who use this ID are serious about modeling. If you have any questions, feel free to comment here or email me nyree.jones@toospoiled.com or IM me at Yahoo using the name msnyreejones.
